I am an artist and educator based in the West. Raised in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada, the forests, mountains and rivers were my playground. This upbringing fostered a deep love for nature and interest in exploration of wild places and expression through artistic pursuit.

My schooling in environmental studies and adventure education sparked a fire to explore the connection between artistic expression, environmental stewardship and action. My love for summits, powder days, and climbing further cemented the need to be outdoors as much as possible. Watercolor painting // ink work allows me to create in remote places and pursue adventure with a purpose to communicate the importance of protecting natural spaces.

I create landscapes based on my own experiences in them, highlighting geometric shapes and the juxtaposition of raw beauty, fragility, and extremes that wilderness holds. Typically I sketch while in the field, and use photos as a reference when creating final pieces.
